GE Security Introduces its Intelligent Video Verification System VVMIQ

VVMIQ is an exceptional concept that can help detect the difference between human and non-human movement. It distinguishes between true and false alarms, thus increasing efficiency of the monitoring system and improving response to alarms. As a result, it is a valuable addition to any residential or commercial security system, as it provides visual verification of an alarm condition allowing the operator in a Central Monitoring Station to prioritize follow-up actions.

When an alarm signal is generated, the system sends the alarm signal together with a video clip. This sophisticated combination of a passive infrared detector (PIR) and a built-in camera is able to distinguish between a human intruder and non-human motion. The human movement is highlighted in a red box, while other motion, such as a circulating fan or a pet, is highlighted in a yellow box. The operator at the remote monitoring station can accurately make a decision if any further action is required.

The VVMIQ module is a fully integrated system module like any other expander board, which makes it a system that is both affordable and easy to install. The messages are sent via a secure IP connection or GPRS.
